Description

Electricians in the construction industry are responsible for, installing, maintaining, and assembling electrical systems in commercial builds, wiring in new buildings and structures.

Duties

Electricians duties include installation, troubleshooting of electrical systems and components. This includes wiring, fixtures, appliances and control systems. Inspecting and testing the electrical systems. Fault testing working solo and, in a team, alongside other trades.

Essential criteria

  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installations plus the AM2 Assessment Level 3 technical and vocational qualification or Level 3 Diploma. City & Guilds Combined Level 2 & Level 3 Electrical Course.
  • Domestic Electrical Part P Course.
  • 18th Edition Course – 2382-22.
  • Inspection and Testing Course - 2391-52.
  • PAT Testing Courses - 2377-77.
  • City & Guilds 2396 Electrical Design Course.
  • A gold CSCS card is required to work on site.
  • ECS Card is the electrotechnical-specific equivalent of a CSCS card.
